Do you struggle to sleep?
Or as if you just can’t seem to get up?
Or maybe you are eating like a king and training as hard as you physically can, but you still don’t look, or feel the way you want, poor sleep may be the contributor.
Here’s a few tips to catch them Zzz’s to get you back on track.
As weird as it sounds your path to a good nights kip as actually starts in the morning..
Wake up at the right time, you will feel a lot better and more alert if you wake from a light sleep stage. Consider using Sleep Cycle from the the App Store, I find it works wonders for my Sleep as it gently wakes you up. Unlike the dreadful iPhone alarm clock that you just want to hit snooze all the time. Or perhaps consider a device like a Fitbit to rouse you at an optimal point.
Wake up with light!
This will naturally raise cortisol, which is a good thing in the morning. The slow rise will help you feel alert and relaxed.
By regularly working out, it helps normalise your body’s 24hour clock, and will regulate your fight or flight system and your hormone levels. Just don’t work out late at night as it will affect you getting to sleep.
Clear your mind..
I will be doing a lot more videos on how clearing your mind does wonders for your mindset. But before bed, whatever is on your mind, dump it out onto paper. This will de-stress and preps you for a good nights sleep.
Turn off your phone!
Turn off your notifications or turn the brightness down on your phone. The artificial light interferes with our production of melatonin (which ensures deep sleep and may help regulate metabolism)
If you really do struggle then there’s always one piece of the puzzle that might help you finally get those hours you’ve been longing for. My personal favourites are HTP-5 Elite, which has all your Magnesium, Theanine, B vitamins in there to help boost those neurotransmitters. Or Phenibut, warning. It’s very powerful..
